We are delighted to invite young artists aged 6+ on the autistic spectrum, and their caregivers, to join us for a relaxing and creative outdoor session led by Lizzie Hall, an experienced facilitator who runs regular young artist sessions for NYAS. This workshop offers a gentle and supportive environment where participants can enjoy art and nature at their own pace. What to Expect: - A calm and friendly setting with individualised support from trained staff - A low-stimulation group size to ensure a quieter, more comfortable experience - Gentle encouragement to explore and sketch the surroundings—whether it’s the wide-open bay, the iconic castle, the lighthouse, or a single detail that captures the eye - No pressure to produce a finished artwork—participants are welcome to take their time, focus on what inspires them, or simply enjoy being outdoors Accessibility & Support: - We understand that each individual may have different needs. Our team is here to provide: - Clear instructions and structure at the start of the session - Visual aids or prompts if helpful - Opportunities for breaks and quiet time as needed - A flexible, non-judgmental space where self-expression is always welcome Saturday 31st May 11am - 12.30pm with Lizzie Hall This workshop is based at: Crescent Arts Woodend Creative Centre Scarborough YO11 2PW Workshop Details: Group Size: Maximum of 6 participants Materials: Graphite and coloured pencils will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own Caregiver Involvement: Caregivers are encouraged to attend and offer support as needed Workshop location is subject to change.
