Oil Painting for Beginners Workshop

Let yourself become enchanted with oil painting, as Emily guides you step-by-step to create your own moonlit ocean painting. As we paint together, Emily will give an insight into the basics of colour mixing, blending, wet-on-wet application and brushwork, while exploring how versatile this medium can be. Emily teaches with a gentle and relaxed approach and she encourages you to find your flow whilst helping you explore how nourishing and calming making paintings can be. Everyone will be made to feel at home and welcome in her classes. All materials are provided, but please wear messy clothes. Emily Starling’s artistic work spans over 14 years and includes huge public installations, oil paintings and surface print designs. Most notably she has collaborated with Chester Zoo, Liberty London, York Bid and House of Hackney. Her work, small or large features nature and its awe-inspiring connection to us all. ‘I believe, creativity offers a guiding hand to reground us and to communicate with ourselves and each other in new ways. It can become a space of sanctuary and I find it one of the most beautiful things we can do as humans. It teaches us to settle, to calm, to observe and to create something that has never existed in the world before. Please note a 5% cancellation fee will apply to cover bank and administration charges. Cancelations within 4 weeks of the event will not be refunded, however bookaclass.org will look to reschedule you onto a future bookaclass.org event. This option is at the discretion of bookaclass.org. Your Right to Cancel If you are a customer living in the United Kingdom or the European Union you have the right to cancel your contract to purchase services from us within 14 days of purchase without giving notice. The cancellation period will end 14 days from the date of purchase when you purchased a service.
