Paul is a regular at portrait class and the odd Abstraction & Experimentation class, too, which is where he made this frenetic-looking painting. He practically punched it out in 5 minutes. There was lots of noise and stamping and whoosing and just at the point it took flight, Paul said 'it's done!' - and then everything went quiet.
 
Paul's an instinctive markmaker. The process is from the gut, and it's this gut-instinct that outpaces any sort of interference from the brain. 'Should you be doing that', the brain says. 'It's done!', the body answers.
